Image Capture Products

Alto's Image Capture products provide a cohesive set of capabilities for capturing information in a variety of forms, editing and organizing into electronic documents and interfacing to a digital library UltraDoc.

Arranger

Arranger is a capture and imposition application that covers a wide range of requirements for converting paper and film-based information to digital formats. It offers simultaneous multiple document and image viewing with convenient drag and drop, image editing, conversion, operations and it links to Alto Imaging's UltraDoc content management system for storage and retrieval.

Support for a family of industry-leading scanners and other capture devices is based on 32-bit high performance drivers using a TWAIN  source-manager/image-source model and open-market high-speed SCSI interfaces. Arranger allows the captured information to be arranged and edited, as well as combined with other existing imaged documents. Various editable, printable, and displayable formats are provided for storing the captured information, matching the format to the content characteristics. Integral OCR, based on the ScanSoft's TextBridge 32-Bit libraries, allows easy extraction of textual content from captured images for immediately editable text or for indexing the stored images.

Printing may be accomplished in Alto's high performance direct image mode for selected print systems such as the Heidelberg DM9110-9150/Canon iR110-150 or through normal printer drivers for ordinary printers.

UltraCopy™

UltraCopy presents a familiar copier interface for local "scan-to-print" copying as well as providing a more general network-aware "any source to any destination" capability. The simple copier paradigm allows you to reproduce documents in a variety of forms – paper to paper, paper to digital storage, digital storage to paper, fax, etc. Just pick your source and destination and click the big green "Copy" button.

As a digital duplicator, the system can operate in the standard "paper-in to paper-out" mode or can be quickly set up to copy a document in the database to print, or from paper form directly into the UltraDoc content management system, etc. This generalized copier paradigm is a powerful feature.

UltraCopy uses the Microsoft standard Windows Print Manager for connecting and configuring printer environments.

UltraCopy also provides for complex booklet, n-up printing, and other  layout/imposition options such as header/footers and image overlays.
