<![CDATA[<div class="article_header">   <p>The information in this document applies to the following products:</p>    <ul>     <li>UltraDoc </li>      <li>Alto Internet Transaction Server (AITS) </li>      <li>UltraPrint </li>   </ul> </div>  <h3>Symptoms</h3>  <p>When attempting to use the <strong>UDS Attach</strong> or <strong>UDS Detach</strong> functions from UltraDoc Explorer or from the UltraDoc tab in UltraPrint, </p>  <p class="error_msg">“The SQLDMO 'Application' object failed to initialize.”</p>  <h3>Cause</h3>  <p>This problem may occur if the SQL Server Distributed Management Objects (SQL-DMO) is not installed, or the version that is installed cannot connect to an instance of SQL Server 2008.</p>  <h3>Resolution</h3>  <p>Install the latest SQL-DMO from the SQL Server Backward Compatibility Setup.</p>  <p>To run the SQL Server Backward Compatibility Setup Wizard, follow these steps: </p>  <ol>   <ol>     <ol></ol>      <li>Locate the following installation source folder for SQL Server 2008:        <p><var>drive</var>:\Servers\Setup</p>        <p><b>Note</b> The <var>drive</var> placeholder is the drive letter of the DVD drive. </p>     </li>      <li>Double-click the <strong>SQLServer2005_BC.ms</strong>i file to run the SQL Server Backward Compatibility Setup Wizard, and then click <strong>Next</strong>. </li>      <li>Click <strong>Modify</strong>, and then click <strong>Next</strong>. </li>      <li>Make sure that the <strong>SQL Distributed management Objects (SQL-DMO)</strong> feature is set to install on the local hard disk drive, and then click <strong>Next</strong>. </li>      <li>Click <strong>Install</strong>. </li>   </ol> </ol>  <p></p>  <h3>More Information</h3>  <p>The SQL-DMO is part of the “SQL Server 2008 Feature Pack” available from the Microsoft Download Center:</p>  <p><a class="extlink" title="Microsoft Download Center: “SQL Server 2008 Feature Pack”" href="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/results.aspx?freetext=SQL+2008+Feature+Pack">Microsoft Download Center: “SQL Server 2008 Feature Pack”</a></p>]]>

<![CDATA[<div class="article_header">   <p>The information in this document applies to the following products:</p>    <ul>     <li>Image Arranger </li>   </ul> </div>  <h3>Symptoms</h3>  <p>When using Deskew, Despeckle, or Optical Character Recognition (OCR) the following error occurs:</p>  <p class="error_msg">“Unable to add page.”</p>  <h3>Cause</h3>  <p>Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has prevented Arranger from accessing a memory location required to perform one of these functions.</p>  <h3>Resolution</h3>  <p>Turn off Data Execution Prevention (DEP) for Arranger. </p>  <p><em>Note: You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might also prevent you from completing this procedure.</em></p>  <ol>   <li>To open System Properties, click <b>Start</b>, click <b>Control Panel</b>, and then double-click <b>System</b>. </li>    <li>Click the <b>Advanced</b> tab and, under <b>Performance</b>, click <b>Settings</b>. </li>    <li>Click the <b>Data Execution Prevention</b> tab. </li>    <li>In the <b>Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select</b> list, do the following:       <ul>       <li>To turn off DEP for a program, select the check box next to <strong>IA.exe</strong> and click <b>OK</b>. <![CDATA[<div class="article_header">   <p>The information in this document applies to the following products:</p>    <ul>     <li>Image Arranger, UltraPrint </li>   </ul> </div>  <h3>Symptoms</h3>  <p>When using Custom Print the following error occurs:</p>  <p class="error_msg">&quot;LPR time-out. Please restart LPD service.&quot;</p>  <h3>Cause</h3>  <p>The LPR service uses TCP ports 721 through 731 for LPR connections. This complies with RFC 1179 but limits performance because it only enables 11 TCP ports to be in use by the service at one time. Per RFC 1122, each port must not be reused for four minutes. This can cause available ports to become exhausted in a busy printing environment or when using Overlays to merge large amounts of variable data.</p>  <h3>Resolution</h3>  <p>Use Registry Editor to enable individual IP address ports to use ports 1024 and higher. </p>  <p><em>WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Alto Imaging Technologies cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.</em></p>  <p>For information about how to edit the registry, view the &quot;Changing Keys And Values&quot; Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the &quot;Add and Delete Information in the Registry&quot; and &quot;Edit Registry Data&quot; Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it.</p>  <p>To use Registry Editor, follow these steps:</p>  <ol>   <li>Click <strong>Start</strong>, click <strong>Run</strong>, and then type <strong>regedit</strong> in the <strong>Open </strong>box. </li>    <li>If the following value exists, double-click the entry. If the value does not already exist, on the <strong>Edit</strong> menu, click <strong>Add Value</strong>, and then type the following information:       <pre>Value Name: &lt;IP address of LPR printer port&gt; 
Data Type : REG_DWORD
Value : 1
Value Type: Binary
0 = uses ports 721-731 (default)
1 = uses any port &gt;1024 </pre>

  <li>Restart the <strong>Spooler</strong> service for the changes to take affect. At an MS-DOS command prompt type <strong>net stop spooler</strong>. To restart the <strong>Spooler</strong> service, at an MS-DOS command prompt type <strong>net start spooler</strong>. </li>

<p>When a new user or group account is created, access permissions granted by setting accessible tables are not inherited by existing objects in those tables. There is currently no provision in either the UltraDoc or UltraDocWeb user interface for acomplishing this task. This article describes how to use a simple stored procedure to replace permissions on all child objects in a document, bundle, or collection table.</p>
<h3>Requirements</h3>
<ul><li>Access to the SQL Server hosting UltraDoc, and permission to run a stored procedure against the UltraDoc database.</li></ul>
<h3>Assigning Permissions to a Group Account</h3>
<ol><li>On the server that is running SQL Server, open SQL Server Query Analyzer, and type the following:</li>
<pre>sp_udGrantGroupAccess &lt;user name&gt, &lt;table name&gt, &lt;permission&gt

    &lt;group name&gt; = the Group_Name in the UD_Group table

again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.</p>
<p>Arranger successfully opens the image.</p>

<h3>CAUSE</h3>
<p>The .tif file type association is incorrectly registered.</p>

<h3>RESOLUTION</h3>
<p>Follow these steps to correctly register the file type association:</p>
<ol><li>While holding the Shift key, right-click a file with the extension .tif, point to <strong>Open With</strong>, and then select <strong>Choose Program</strong>.</li>
<li>In the <strong>Recommended Programs</strong> list select the <strong><em>second</em> Image Arranger Application</strong> listed.</li>
<li>Select the <strong>Always use the selected program to open this kind of file</strong> check box, and then click <strong>OK</strong>.</li></ol>

Category: None<br />
Description: The ServiceName service has reported an invalid current state 0.</p>

<h3>CAUSE</h3>
<p>A Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) Hardware Inventory Agent is making a Win32 call to enumerate services. This control code requests the service to update its current status information immediately to Service Control Manager. Some Win32 service including the UltraPrint Server service cannot respond to this call and instead enter a Stopped state.</p>

<h3>RESOLUTION</h3>
<p>Prohibit SMS from enumerating the Win32_Service classes.<br />

Exclude the UltraPrintServer from the SMS group.</p>

<p>Disable overlays for the active document prior printing the range or selection. To do so, follow these steps:</p>
<ol><li>Select <strong>Overlays</strong> from the <strong>File</strong> menu.</li>
<li>Uncheck the <strong>Enable Overlays</strong> check box.</li>
<li>Click the <strong>OK</strong> button.</li></ol>

<h3>MORE INFORMATION</h3>
<p>Page ranges or selections cannot be printed when Overlays is enabled. Overlays merges variable data with the active image at time of output and cannot be used when printing page ranges or selections. This behavior is by design.</p>]]>

<h3>SYMPTOMS</h3>
<p>When attempting to upload files for printing using UltraPrintWeb, or Alto Internet Transaction Server (AITS) you receive the following error message:</p>
<p class="error_msg">200 Type set to I<br />
200 Port command successful<br />
550 UPWUpload\<em>Julian_date</em>\<em>filename</em></p>
<p>followed by:</p>
<p class="error_msg">Upload failed.</p>
<p>followed by:</p>
<p class="error_msg">Upload document process failed.</p>
<h3>CAUSE</h3>
<p>The registry value UploadFolderUNC does not contain a valid server name or UNC path to the UPWUpload share.<br />
&#151; or &#151;<br />
Write access permission for the virtual directory mapped to the UPWUpload folder is not set.<br />
&#151; or &#151;<br />
NTFS file permissions do not allow the Launch Internet Process Account (IWAM_<em>MachineName</em>) to create folders, and/or the Internet Guest Account (IUSR_<em>MachineName</em>) to write files.</p>
<h3>RESOLUTION</h3>
<p>Select a method to resolve the issue based on the cause specific to your installation.</p>
<p><strong>Method 1</strong>: Use Registry Editor to modify the <strong>UploadFolderUNC</strong> value.<p>
<p><em>WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Alto Imaging Technologies cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.</em></p>
<p>For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys And Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it.</p>
<p>To use Registry Editor, follow these steps:</p>
<ol><li>Click <strong>Start</strong>, click <strong>Run</strong>, and then type <strong>regedit</strong> in the <strong>Open </strong>box.</li>
<li>Locate and then click the following key in the registry:</li>
<pre>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Alto Imaging\UltraPrintWeb\Settings\</pre>
<li>Set the <strong>UploadFolderUNC </strong>value to: <strong>\\<em>ServerName</em>\UPWUpload</strong> where <strong><em>ServerName</em></strong> is the name of the computer hosting the UPWUpload share</li></ol>
<p><strong>Method 2</strong>: Set Write access permission on the UPWUpload virtual directory.</p>
<ol><li>Launch <strong>Internet Information Services Manager</strong>.</li>
<li>In the Internet Information Services windows, expand the server, expand the <strong>Web Sites</strong> folder, and then expand <strong>Default FTP Site</strong>.</li>
<li>Right-click the <strong>UPWUpload</strong> folder, and then click <strong>Properties</strong>.</li>
<li>Select the <strong>Write </strong>check box, and then click <strong>OK</strong>.</li></ol>
<p><strong>Method 3</strong>: Change the NTFS permissions on the UPWUpload folder.</p>
<ol><li>Use <strong>Windows Explorer</strong> to locate <strong>C:\Inetpub\ftproot\UPWUpload</strong>.</li>
<li>Right-click the <strong>UPWUpload</strong> folder, click <strong>Properties</strong>, and then select the <strong>Security </strong>tab.</li>
<li>Add the <strong>IWAM_<em>MachineName</em></strong>, and <strong>IUSR_<em>MachineName</em></strong> accounts if necessary. Grant <strong>Modify </strong>permissions to both accounts.</li></ol>

<h3>CAUSE</h3>
<p>Windows Recent Document History is disabled.</p>

<h3>RESOLUTION</h3>
<p><em>WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Alto Imaging Technologies cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.</em></p>

<p>The Padding option is not available when using the Custom Print interface from Arranger or UltraPrint.</p>

<h3>CAUSE</h3>
<p>Overlays are enabled for the active document.</p>

<h3>RESOLUTION</h3>
<p>Disable overlays for the active document prior printing the range or selection. To do so, follow these steps:</p>
<ol><li>Select <strong>Overlays</strong> from the <strong>File</strong> menu.</li>
<li>Uncheck the <strong>Enable Overlays</strong> check box.</li>
<li>Click the <strong>OK</strong> button.</li></ol>

<h3>MORE INFORMATION</h3>
<p>Print jobs cannot be padded when Overlays is enabled. Overlays merges variable data with the active image at time of output and if combined with padding could result in unintentional printing of duplicate documents. This behavior is by design.</p>]]>

When printing to a DigiMaster 9110 using the AltoPrint DM9110 printer driver, the following error occurs:<br />

    The server name or address could not be resolved"</pre></font>However, printing using Custom Print from within Arranger or UltraPrint works correctly.</p>

<p><strong><u>CAUSE</u></strong><br />
A '/' (forward slash) character is used in the image path URI specified in the Custom Print interface configuration.</p>

<p><strong><u>RESOLUTION</u></strong><br />
Replace all '/' (forward slash) characters with '\' characters (back slash) in the image path URI specified in the Custom Print interface configuration. </p>

<p><strong><u>MORE INFORMATION</u></strong><br />
The Win32 spool subsystem expects back slash characters in the image path URI when used to communicate via FTP.</p>]]>

<p><strong><u>SYMPTOMS</u></strong><br />
When printing to a DigiMaster 9110 using the Custom Print Interface from Image Arranger or UltraPrint, the print job does not print and does not appear in the Job Manager at the Operator Control Interface (OCI).</p>

<p><strong><u>CAUSE</u></strong><br />
The paper catalog file on the Arranger or UltraPrint workstation is mismatched or corrupt.</p>

<p><strong><u>RESOLUTION</u></strong><br />
Download a new paper catalog from the DigiMaster 9110. To do so, follow these steps:</p>

<p>Image Arranger:</p>

<ol><li>Start Arranger.</li>
<li>Open an image file.</li>
<li>From the <strong>File</strong> menu point to <strong>Custom Print</strong> and click <strong>Digimaster 9110 Custom Print</strong>.</li>
<li>Click the <strong>More</strong> button in the Print Settings section of the Digimaster 9110 Advanced Settings interface.</li>
<li>Click the <strong>Get</strong> button next to the Paper Catalog path entry.</li></ol>

<p>UltraPrint:</p>

<ol><li>Start UltraPrint.</li>
<li>Select a book or page from the console pane (left side).</li>
<li>From the <strong>File</strong> menu point to <strong>Custom Print</strong> and click <strong>Digimaster 9110...</strong></li>
<li>Click the <strong>More</strong> button in the Print Settings section of the Digimaster 9110 Advanced Settings interface.</li>
<li>Click the <strong>Get</strong> button next to the Paper Catalog path entry.</li></ol>

<p><strong><u>MORE INFORMATION</u></strong><br />
A mismatched paper catalog occurs when a change is made to the catalog at the DigiMaster 9110, but the copy used by Custom Print is not refreshed.</p>

<p>When using Custom Print to output to multiple printers each with different paper catalogs, a job saved using the paper catalog from one printer subsequently output to another printer with a different paper catalog will cause this condition to occur.</p>]]>
