The information in this document applies to the following products:

SYMPTOMS
Arranger does not start or causes a Fatal Exception error on startup.

CAUSE
A preference value contained in a registry key has become corrupt. This is sometimes caused by removing the default printer, or a printer currently selected by Arranger

RESOLUTION
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Alto Imaging Technologies cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys And Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it.

To resolve this issue, reset Arranger's preferences by deleting the registry key containing preference values . To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Use Registry Editor to delete the following registry key, if it exists:
  2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Alto Imaging\Arranger\Arranger
  3. Restart Arranger.
